Sharon Lynn Hale Vess

On Friday, February 23, 2024, Heaven welcomed a new angel, Sharon Hale Vess (80) of Salem, Virginia. After a brave fight with multiple health issues over the past 30 years, her time to rest has finally come. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was a graduate of William Fleming High School, Class of 1961. She worked for NAPA Genuine Auto Parts for 30 years and retired from there in 2001. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mamie and Eddie Hale; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Ronnie Klever; nephew, David Klever; and best of friends, Helen Hendrix. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, John Vess; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Dwayne Smith; grandson, Brayden Smith and girlfriend Mia Szekely; granddaughter, Ashlyn Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Neal and Ginger Hale; niece and husband Lara and Gerry Bingeman; great niece and nephew Remi and Logan Bingeman; niece and husband, Annie (Kitty) and Kevin McClure; special friends: Vernelle (Nell) & Kenny Hale; Patrick, April & Layla Smyth; Edie Cheesman; Lara Ann & Gary Harris, and their late son, Todd; and many other extended family members and friends.
