Scott Douglas Crawford, 46, of Lexington, NC and formerly of Salem, VA, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was a carman with Norfolk Southern for nearly 24 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, building computers, and riding his Harley in his spare time. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Earl and Myrtle Crawford and Frank and Irene Sledd; father, Melvin Douglas Crawford; and uncles and aunts, Edwin Crawford, David Crawford, Berkley Crawford, Carl Crawford, Phyllis Reed, and Evelyn Riffe. His surviving family includes his mother, Brenda Sue Sledd Crawford; sister, Lisa Crawford Kittinger; nieces, Katelyn and Karah Kittinger; uncles and aunts, Randall and Kathy Crawford, Darlene Wood, Wanda and Bobby Anderson, Pat and Michael Reynolds, Lorene Crawford, Sylvia Crawford, Phyllis Crawford, Linda Crawford, and Barbara Dame; and numerous cousins. A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. An online guestbook is available at www.johnmoakey.com.
