Scarlett Brown 'Tina' Gillespie

Scarlett Brown (Tina) Gillespie, 75, of Salem, joined her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 17, 2018, just 8 short months to the date after losing her daughter. She was a MeMaw and Great-MeMaw, and enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandsons. She was a huge Salem Football fan and up until her illnesses never missed a game. Her family meant the world to her. Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry and Allie Brown; husband of 25 years, Patrick Gillespie; daughter, Melissa Jo Huffman; and 6 siblings. Her surviving family includes daughters, Trina Bateman and husband, Richard, and Carmen Gillespie; grandchildren, Morgan, Hannah, Patrick, and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Levi and Ryder; son-in-law, Sammy Huffman; and special niece, Pam Harrison. Special appreciation is extended to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospitals 9 South PCU and ICU as well as 10 Mountain ICU for the loving care of Tina. A period of visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church located at 1601 South Colorado Street in Salem, Va. 24153. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Hilton Jeffreys officiating.
