Sandra Jones Bradley was born on March 18,1942 to Albert Fielding Jones and Gaynelle Mitchell Jones of Salem, Virginia. Sandra was the apple of her father's eye, and she enjoyed a youth filled with travel and cultural experiences with her three younger brothers. This contributed to her lifelong love of the arts, music and literature. She devoured historical novels and drew, designed professionally, and painted simply for her own enjoyment.
She was voted "Most Popular" at Andrew Lewis High School, where she was head cheerleader and excelled in Latin and art. She was crowned Miss Index 1959, an honor bestowed by the statewide Industrial Exposition. She maintained several relationships from her high school years throughout her life and was always available when a friend was in need.
Sandra and her former husband, the father of her children, spent a summer in Europe and studied art at Fontainebleau Schools of Music and Fine Arts, an experience that greatly influenced and solidified her love of travel, adventure, fashion, and interior design.
Sandra was a member of Salem Baptist Church, where she was active as a leader of youth groups as well as a teacher among her peers. With these friends she attended many Retreats and Mission trips that always left her inspired and rejuvenated.
Sandra had many careers, from women's fashions to gemology and jewelry. She eventually opened her own Interior Design business, "Interiors," where she thrived in a role where she could express yet another side of her endless creativity.
Sandra's greatest joy was undoubtedly her family. A devoted mother of three, she was the definition of self-sacrifice and made sure to maintain close relationships with her three brothers as they married and had children of their own. She loved being an aunt and sharing everyone's news.
Through many personal challenges, she maintained her sense of humor and provided a rich and colorful life for her children, filled with a rotating menagerie of pets and her ever-present Yorkies. Sandra was the "go-to Mom," active as a North Cross parent, always lending an ear to friends and chaperoning school and beach trips. This ability to form warm connections continued when she became a grandmother, which was another great joy in her life.
Sandra was predeceased by her beloved parents, and her youngest son Wesley Cooper Bradley. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Fielding Bradley (Linda); and her daughter Lezlie Gaynelle Bradley Snyder, and her beloved daughter-in-law and special friend, Melissa Brinkley Bradley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Madeline Lizette Bradley, Olivia Roxanne Snyder, and Asher Marlowe Snyder.
Sandra is survived by brothers, Albert Fielding Jones, Jr. (Rita), David Earl Jones (Dianne), and Eric Eugene Jones (Susan). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, each one holding a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind her former husband, Robert Nance Bradley and his wife, Enola Mabry, who became a valued friend.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., at Salem Baptist Church, 103 N. Broad Street, Salem; visitation will be held before the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to join the family for a reception following the service at the Bradley's business, Parkway Brewing Company, at 739 Kessler Mill Road in Salem.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Franklin County's Planned Pethood & Humane Society or Salem Baptist Church.
