Samuel Thomas Sharpe

Samuel Thomas Sharpe, 83, of Roanoke and raised in Pembroke, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army, and was retired from Reynolds Metals after 33 years. Preceding him in death was his wife, Nannie H. Sharpe, and three brothers. His surviving family includes his children, Debbie Long, Lawrence Sharpe, and Melissa Jones; four sisters; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 in the funeral homes chapel with the Rev. Brian Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
