Samuel Daryl Long

Samuel Daryl Long, 63, of Elliston, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. He was born in Tennessee, a son of the late Leonard James Long and Josephine Hensley Long and had been a resident of this area for most of his life. He was employed for over 25 years at Medeco prior to retiring in 2014. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working around the yard and playing the lottery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, and four brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia Lynn Harshbarger Long; a son, Chris Long and wife Stacie; a daughter, Amy Long and her fianc Troy Bryant; two brothers, Johnny and Delmar Williford, and four grandchildren, Devin Shlyn, Kierra and Brianna. Also surviving are extended family members including brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Fellowship Community Church, Salem. The Rev. Ken Nienke will officiate.
