Sallie Ann Whitenack

Sallie Eanes Whitenack, 91, of Roanoke, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. She was born on Saturday, January 17, 1931, to the late Henry and Jessie Joyce Eanes. Sallie was a lifelong member of Belmont Baptist Church. She served in various capacities in the church from the nursery and childrens ministry to working in the counting room. She developed many wonderful friendships throughout her time at Belmont. She was employed by the Appalachian Electric Power company before having children and becoming a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother; and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Marshall Whitenack; five brothers; and three sisters. Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kathy Whitenack Atkins (Scott), and Rebecca Whitenack-Stinnett (William Lacy); grandchildren, Kendall Atkins Livick, (Trae), Kelsey Atkins Harrell, (Daniel), Kallie Atkins Wright, (Zach); Great Grandchildren, Lori Livick, Mac Livick, and Gabe Harrell, and sister Eleanor (Doll) Thompson. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
