Sadako Leftwich

Sadako K. Leftwich, age 89, of Salem, Va. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2019. She was born on Tuesday, January 14, 1930, to the late Kamakichi and Tsuya Kato. Sadako was and will forever be a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was genuinely kind. She and her husband, Frank are members of Salem First Christian Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank R. Leftwich; sons, Frank W. Leftwich, and wife, Pam, and John M. Leftwich and wife, Sara; grandchildren, Brian, Brooke, Brittany, and Jeremy Leftwich; great-grandson, Owen Leftwich; sister-in-law, Debra Horn. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. with Pastor Dan Netting officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va. Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
