Ryan Christopher Koon

Ryan Christopher Koon, 20, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 from complications during surgery following an accident last week. Ryan was a student at Radford University studying computer science. He was working in student media as the technology support person. Ryans amazing mind, quick wit, and sweet personality will be remembered by all. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Lee Alls and J.W. Koon, Jr. Family left to cherish his memory include his mom and dad, Chris and Kim Koon and brother, Matthew Koon of Salem; grandmothers, Shirley Alls and Lana Koon of Salem; uncle and aunt, James L. Alls II and Cindy W. Alls of Centreville, VA; aunt, Shelly Koon of Salem; a very special cousin, James Mason Alls of Centreville, VA; his devoted and loving girlfriend of four and a half years, Jessica Todd-Snyder of Salem; many amazing friends; and his cherished cat, Obi. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Roy Kanode officiating.
