Ruth Naomi Mason, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015. She was 91 years old and a resident of the Oaks and Richfield Recovery Care Center. Ruth was one of eight children born in Spotsylvania County and raised in Mine Run, Virginia.
Ruth dedicated her life to her family and God. There was nothing more important to her. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Jamison, of 66 years who passed away in 2012, parents Benjamin and Louisa Davis, and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Robert Mason of Bedford; granddaughters Sara Starkey of Fredericksburg; and Cristy Spencer of Roanoke.
The family would like to thank the staff at Richfield at the Oaks and the Recovery Care Center on 3West for their devotion and love of Ruth. The nurses and staff there made her last years one filled with laughter, love, and support. It was a true sense of family at Richfield and we appreciate their adoration of the spunky nicknames she gave them and great relationship she had with them all.
Memories instilled in those that are surviving will forever remember her gentle and nurturing nature. A final tootaloo to a beloved Mother, Nanny, Aunt, cousin and friend that we know is Home and surrounded by all of Heavens family and love. Her spirit and legacy will live forever.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Jane Morgan Harris Chapel of Richfield Retirement Community located on Allegheny Avenue in Salem. The Rev.
