Russell Thomas "Booby" Palmer, Jr.

Russell Thomas Booby Palmer, Jr., age 68, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Roanoke. He was born on Thursday, June 14, 1952, to the late Fanny Mae Boone Palmer and Russell Palmer, Sr. To say the least, Booby was a diehard supporter of President Trump! He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sister, Dela Mae Wheeling; brothers, Maynard Lee Palmer and Carl Palmer; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be conducted at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, Va., at 2 p.m. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
