Ruby Ann Starkey

Ruby Ann Starkey, 99, of Elliston, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Born Saturday, February 16, 1924, to the late Ulysses Grant Dunn and Ruth Gordon. Ruby was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and healthcare worker and her family cherished her deeply. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Starkey Sr.; daughter, Ann Starkey; sons, Alvin Starkey, Douglas Starkey, and Larry Starkey; brothers, Nathan Dunn, Clevie Dunn, Jimmie Dunn; sisters, Frances Maxey, Helen King; grandchildren, Chrissy Wyatt, Rodney Keith Starkey; and daughter-in-law, Alice Starkey. Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Robert Starkey, and Ruth Brammer (Barney); daughters-in-law, Amanda Starkey, and Debbie Starkey; siblings, Andrew Dunn and Nannie Minnick; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Stewart Wright officiating.Burial to follow at the Echols Community Cemetery in Ironto.
