Ruby Louise Jarrett Owens

Ruby Louise Jarrett Owens, 80, of Salem, VA passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012. She was born December 25, 1932 in Fieldale, VA the daughter of the late Russell and Evelyn Sawyers Jarrett. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dreama O. Kiser; and a brother, Donald A. Jarrett, Sr. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 65 years. James Homer Cotton Owens; daughters, Karine O. Pierce and husband, Richard; and Glenda O. Bastress and husband, Buddy; brother, W. Leon Jarrett and wife, Virgie; grandchildren, J. Travis Pierce and wife, Kristy; and Kristin Rickman and husband, Tony; great-grandchildren, Kendal and Brendan Pierce and Caroline Rickman; sisters-in-law, Billie Lee Jarrett and Gladys Owen; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Friday, December 28, 2012 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Rev. Bobby Pickle officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
