Roxanne Tuerk

Roxanne Tuerk, age 96, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021. She was born in 1925 in the Bronx, New York, to Samuel Abraham and Jean Albin. Roxy, as she was called, loved life and would wake up cheerful and happy every morning. She loved crafts and was extremely artistic. Her last few years she became a jigsaw puzzle expert. Roxy enjoyed her gossip magazines and read them as if they were the New York Times Newspaper. Her ageless beauty and flawless skin gave credence to the belief that ice cream kept you young. Roxanne is now in Heaven with her beloved husband, Jerome Tuerk. Also predeceasing her was her lifelong friend, Lillian Jacobs. She will always be lovingly remembered by her children: Jay (Tracy) Tuerk, Laurie Alongi, and Sheri (James) Greb; her grandchildren: Jonathan (Amy) Stewart, Kelly Tuerk, Sean Tuerk, Shane (Jessie) Alongi, Michael Alongi, Nicholas Tuerk, and Matthew Tuerk; her great-grandchildren: Sierra Yslas, Meranda Yslas, Niko Gerardo, and Scott Alongi; her nephews: Sheldon (Nanette) Tuerk, Leslie (Susan) Tuerk, and Craig Tuerk; sister-in-law, Barbara Tuerk, and her niece, Shelly Parmet-Evans. Roxy was a very beautiful, spiritual woman who prayed fervently. Even when her body was failing, her mind was sharp. She will be missed more than words can say every single day and she was loved higher than the sky and deeper than the ocean. All services will be held privately by the family.
