Ronnie W. Mowles

Ronnie W. Mowles, 72, of Salem, left the fairways of this life to play the links in his heavenly home on Friday, July 19, 2013. Ronnie was a life long Salem resident, a son of the late, Oscar and Glenna Mowles. Ronnie was known as an avid golfer, he played several days a week and sometimes everyday of the week, if he was not working, mowing the grass, or on the couch watching golf he would be found on the golf course, he played the most at Blue Hills Country Club, but could also be found at Hanging Rock with The Old Dudes. Left behind to cherish his memories are his long time girlfriend, Brenda Stone; two sons, Wayne Mowles and wife, Angie, Ryan Mowles and girlfriend, Kristi Figaro; two daughters, Cindy Mowles, and boyfriend, Scott Horne, and Tara Mowles; three grand-children, Ashley Semones, Sean Mowles, and Alana Mowles; one great grand-child, Bryce Simpson; two sisters, Betty Winstead and Joan Lilly; along with a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the, John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home and Crematory, Salem. A Funeral service to honor the life of Ronnie Wayne Mowles, will then take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the chapel of the funeral home, with Pastor Eddie Strickland officiating, the family would like for you to consider in lieu of flowers, making a donation to the, Carilion Clinic Childrens Hospital, 1906 Belleview Avenue Roanoke, VA 24014.
