Ronnie Eli Blevins, Sr., 64, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 17, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was a carpenter by trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, often times sharing this love with his kids and grandkids by new poles and lures. Ronnie was also a talented guitar and banjo player.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, William and Florence Francisco and Walter Eli and Annie Mae Blevins; father, Marvin Eli Blevins; and uncles, Jerry and Jimmy Blevins.
The family surviving to cherish his memory includes his mother, Nora Blevins Reid; children, Ashley Brooke Blevins and Ronnie Eli Blevins, Jr.; siblings, Danny Blevins and his wife, Amy and Michael Blevins; grandchildren, Brannon Spickard, Caleb Blevins, Derek Blevins, and Tristan Blevins; and uncles, Robert Gail and Eli Junior Blevins.
A period of visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service will then begin at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Matt King officiating.
