Ronald Wayne 'Ron' Hunley

Ronald Wayne Ron Hunley, age 69, of Salem, Va. completed his earthly journey on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Ronnie was born on Tuesday, September 20, 1949. Ronnie was a resident at Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center for 3 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and went to many races. He loved southern gospel Christian music. He enjoyed reading his computer, keeping up with the news, deaths and weather. Ronnie was a hard worker and worked for over 30 years in the Bluefield area driving for VA Foods and Jones Candy Co. Ronnie was the first son to Mr. Rufus M. Hunley and Mrs. Gladys P. Hunley. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his wife, Susan J. Hunley; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. C. Z. Peters and Mr. & Mrs. R. K. Hunley; sister, Eileen H. Stratadakis; brothers, Michael J. Hunley and Mark A. Hunley. Left to cherish his memory is a Son, Kenneth Wayne Hunley; his Mother, Gladys P. Hunley; sister, Karen H. Rogers and husband, Roy a special brother-in-law; brother, Randall S. Hunley; also, special nieces, nephew and cousins. A funeral service to celebrate Ronnies life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. J.R. Shelor and Rev. Herb Shaffer.
