Roger Lee Wade Sr.

Roger Lee Wade, Sr., 75, of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 22, 1947, to the late Helen F. Kingery and William T. Wade, Sr. If you knew Roger, you knew exactly what his likes and dislikes were! In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Mamie Florence Green; brother, Charles E. Chucky Wade; sister-in-law, Pat Wade. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-one years, Lilly E. Gillespie Wade; Roger Lee Wade, Jr., (Amber), Jenny Burden (John), Pamela Hendrickson (Josh); grandchildren, Ellett Underwood, Jr., Tyler Underwood, Nicholas Atkins, Zane Burden, Zoe Burden, Chloe Hendrickson; step grandchildren, Rian (Haley), Addison, and Lealan Wheat, and Noah Smith; brother, William T. Wade, Jr.; step great-granddaughter, Raley Wheat niece and nephew, William T. Wade, III, (Amy) and Anna King (Tim), with numerous great nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA.
