Roger Dale Small Sr.

Roger Dale Small, Sr., 63, of Vinton, VA passed away peacefully Saturday, December 25, 2021. He was born in Roanoke, VA on March 17, 1958. He was preceded in death by parents, Bobby and Peggy Small. Survivors are wife of 23 years, Katherline R. Small whom he married on March 21, 1998; children, Roger Lee Small (Julie), Lisa Small (Michael), John Wayne Hutchison (Kassi), Chris Small (April), Roger Small, Jr. (Marie), Carol Hobbs (Travis), Steven Trail (Angela), Justin Hobbs (Stacey) and Nick Hutchison; 34 grandchildren ; two great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Dee) and Terry (Tammy) Small; mother-in-law, Carol LaPradd; and special cousin, Carlton Kingery, Jr. (Toon); numerous nieces and nephews. Roger worked as General Manager for U-Haul until his retirement. His hobbies were cars and country music. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11 a.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Matt King officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Roanoke.
