Roger Ray Kegley, 66, of Salem, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. He was born in Wytheville, a son of the late Elbert and Lettie Creger Kegley and had been an area resident for most of his life. He was employed as a utility man in Division 400 of Yokohama Tire Corporation for over 32 years prior to retiring. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren above all. He is survived by his loving sons, Roger Ray Kegley, Jr. and his wife Sherry, and Scott Allan Kegley; two brothers, Clyde Kegley and his wife Louise, Paul Kegley and his wife Joyce; a sister, Lettie Kate McGuire, and four grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Amanda and Zachary Kegley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. A Graveside service will be held at 2PM, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery in Wytheville with the Rev. Roy Kanode officiating.
