Robert Ray Smith

Robert (Bob) Ray Smith, 73, of Roanoke County, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013. Robert was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army, and was retired from Lane Furniture in Altavista. Preceding him in death were his parents, James P. and Vernie L. Smith. His surviving family includes his wife of 40 years, Pat Smith; children, Jeff Smith and wife, Angie, and Kimberly Burnley; and special granddaughters, Courtney Burnley and Whitney Cox. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service will then begin at 3 p.m. Visitation will then continue until 5 p.m. Flowers are appreciated and charitable contributions may be made in Roberts name to the American Diabetes Association at 1701 North Beauregard Street in Alexandria, VA 22311.
