Robert Kevin Hughes

Robert Kevin Hughes, 41, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. He was born in Roanoke, VA on July 27, 1971. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Robert and Hallie Hughes; and maternal grandparents, Lamah and Pearl Crawford. Surviving his death are his parents, Harold and Sandra Jo Hughes of Salem and Shirley and Philip Coffey of Salem; three sisters, Kathy Booth of Salem, Lori Ratcliffe and husband, Harless, of Salem, and Susan Ellis and husband, Greg, of Hollins; daughters, Ashley Shaver of Salem and Brianna Wheeling of Shawsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, riding his four-wheeler, and tubing on the New River. He was a skilled automatic transmission mechanic and had a knack for fixing most things mechanical. He loved his mamas home cooking and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
