Robert Lee Hedge Sr.

Robert Lee Hedge, Sr., 81, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2016. Bob was a proud veteran having served his country in the U.S. Marines. Preceding him in death was his wife, Kathryn Davis Hedge; and son, Robert Lee Hedge, Jr. His surviving family includes a son, William Eugene (Gene) Hedge and wife, Dottie; siblings, William Hedge, Roy Hedge, Joyce Overstreet, and Wanda Harris; grandchildren, William Robert Hedge and wife, April, Christopher Aaron Hedge, Cynthia Danielle Hedge, Jamie Boone Percy and husband, Travis, Jessica D. Boone, and Jennifer M. Boone; great-granddaughters, Kathryn Hedge and Olyvia Cooper; and devoted companion, Princess. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Dan Netting will officiate. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Bobs name to First Christian Church at 712 Front Avenue in Salem, Va. 24153.
