Robert Brian 'Rob' Gerner

Robert B. Rob Gerner, 68, of Smith Mountain Lake, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was born in Lakewood, NJ, a son of the late Charles Gerner and Ella Dunn Gerner of Roanoke and had been an area resident for over 30 years. Rob was employed as a realtor with ReMax Lakefront Realty. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Gerner. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Amelia Hough Gerner; a son Eric Gerner (Amber); three daughters, Leah Douglas (Mack), Lauren Birckhead (Landon), Lindsey Oberg; his brother, Eric Gerner (Kim); seven precious grandchildren, and former spouse, Rachel Gerner. A memorial service will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. L.Gerald Carter will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
