Robert Edward Finck

FINCK Robert E. Robert (Bob) Edward Finck, 50, of Salem, Va., in the blink of an eye, left the earth to be with our Great Father in Heaven. Bob was serving Christ on a mission trip to Zambia, Africa and died suddenly in an auto crash on Monday, August 9, 2010. Affectionately known as The Vortex by all those who loved him, Bob was preceded in death by his father Edward John Finck, Sr. and beloved grandmother, Fanny M. Hooks. Surviving Bob are his wife Sandi McDaniel Finck, daughters Amanda Brittany Finck, Brenna Katelyn Finck, son Hunter James Leo Finck, mother Martha Hooks Finck, brother Edward John Finck, Jr.; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bob was an integral part of the family at Fellowship Community Church in Salem, Va. Among the many roles Bob played while he was here were loving son, husband, father, friend, baseball and softball coach, advocate and most importantly servant of our Awesome God. Bob was born on September 18, 1959 at Andrews AFB, Maryland. He grew up in Woodbridge, Va., graduating from Woodbridge Senior High School; he then proudly served in the United States Air Force for 6 years. He also resided in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he and his family were members of Salem Baptist Church. Bob loved hunting, golfing and being with his family and friends. He loved His Lord and Savior most of all. This wonderful man is going to be missed beyond measure until we all are reunited with him again in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fellowship Community Church, Missions. A private grave side service for family and close friends will be held at East Hill Cemetery in Salem, Virginia on Thursday, August 19th.
