Robert "Glen" Dillon, 85, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at his residence, with family by his side.

He was born on August 18, 1941, in Roanoke, Va., son of the late L.E. and Irene Jewel (Perdue) Dillon. At the young age of 12, Glen began working in the family printing business, then known as Chocolate Printing and later Progress Printing. He remained there until he retired in 2016. During his tenure, the relationships and friendships he made were too many to count. During his leisure time, Glen enjoyed fishing and hunting, working in and planting his garden, and grilling and cooking for his family. Likewise, his family thoroughly enjoyed his cooking talents, as Glen was known as a terrific cook.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his loving wife of 53 years, Wanda Jane (Meredith) Dillon; his children, Veronica McNeil (Rick), Anthony Glen Dillon, Tabatha Dillon-Fitzgerald (Larry), Glenett Marie Sweeney (Brian), and Monica Jill Stephenson; sister, Sally Ann Hungate (Michael); grandchildren, Joseph Benton Terry, Samson Glen Terry, Caitlyn Lee Hall (Dalton), Courtney Lyssa Stultz, Connor Lucas Stultz, Dallas Dillon, and Alyiah Dillon; several nieces and nephews; and his loving K-9 companion, "Rascal".

The family will welcome friends for a period of visitation on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 5 until 7 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, in Salem.

Graveside services honoring Glen's life will be conducted on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park, also in Salem.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Glen's niece and nephew, Jessica and Scott Meredith, for the love and care given to Glen at his residence during his illness.
