Rigoberto Vargas

Rigoberto Vargas, commonly known as Pops, of Roanoke and formerly of Miami, FL, New York, and Puerto Rico passed on to be together again with his wife, Norma, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the age of 62. He was employed at ServPro of Roanoke and was an active member of New Life Christian Ministries. He was an amazing father, husband, and friend who touched many lives, was loved by anyone who has ever met him, and will be missed by all. He was the son of the late Gregorio Vargas Torres and Alicia Vargas. His surviving family includes his daughter, Stephanie Vargas; son-in-law, Alfonso Gutierrez; soon-to-be-born grandson; brother, Elvin Vargas; sister-in-law, Gladys Vargas; and nieces and nephews, Anjolee Vargas, Dean Vargas, and Cathie Fabian. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church at 712 Front Avenue in Salem with Pastor Jeff Copper of New Life Christian Ministries officiating.
