Richard Steven Kilby

Richard Steven Kilby, 69 of Salem, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, James David Kilby and LuRena Hartman Kilby, as well as two brothers, Marvin and Gary Kilby, all of Salem. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Teresa Kilby; his niece, Marah Starr (Jonah); his nephew, Jared Kilby (Gabby) and his loyal poodle companions, Charley and Bailey. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

Richard was a fixture of Goodwill Industries for over 30 years. Along with his love for rerun TV watching and Strawberry milkshakes he never forgot a face and was always happy to see old friends. He was a "champion" bowler, loved his annual beach trips, and did great impersonations of movie and TV characters.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Hartman Family Cemetery, 6635 Pine Needle Dr., Boones Mill, Va. A memorial celebration for Richard will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, 2241 Mill Lane in Salem, Va.
