Rebecca Alexander Wood

Rebecca Alexander Wood, 93, of Salem, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Homer Byerle and Minnie Bowman Alexander; brothers, Homer B. Alexander, Jr. and Robert Bowman Alexander, DDS; and half siblings, Gordon W. Alexander and Pauline B. Alexander Melton. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John L. Wood; daughter, Rebecca Leigh Wood; son, John Alexander Alex Wood (Wendy); brother, Joseph Alexander, DDS (Paige); and two grandchildren, Maxwell Adam Wood and Ellen Amelia Wood. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Salem Presbyterian Church, Salem, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Rebecca to any of the following: Salem Presbyterian Church, Salem Rescue Squad, or Good Samaritan Hospice.
