Rebecca Kingery

Rebecca "Becky" Jean Bushnell Kingery, 90, of Bedford County, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Roanoke, Va., on October 31, 1935, she was the last of the eleven children born to the late Evan R. and Paulina "Pansy" Thompson Bushnell. She is also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 71 years, Frank G. Kingery, whom she loved and missed immensely.

Becky was a shining example of a life lived to glorify and honor Christ. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time making memories with her family. Becky traveled and sang Gospel music for 12 years as part of the Kingerys, a Southern gospel trio she shared with her two daughters. Once her children were grown, she worked at Children's Discovery Center, caring for young children, which she loved. Becky and Frank raised their family as longtime members of the Nazarene church; however, in recent years, they were active members of Jordantown Wesleyan Church. Becky had a heart of gold, a witty sense of humor, and a thoughtful, loving and giving spirit.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth Kingery and wife, Susie, Dreama Overfelt and husband, Kelvin and Faith Lane and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Frank Overfelt and wife, April, Mark Overfelt and Candy, Zach Wiley and wife, Gabby, Hannah Wiley and fiancé, Johnny Meade and Rebekah Wiley and Dean Pieranunzi; great-grandchildren, Autumn Overfelt and Avery Close, Caleb Overfelt and fiancée, Baleigh Shortt, Isaac Overfelt and fiancée, Ashlynn Thrasher, Simon Wiley and Rhodes Wiley; special nieces, Tina, Rose and Donna; her longtime best friend, Doris Simmons; "The Fun Bunch" -- her special friends from JWC, as well as a large extended family and many friends.

The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with both Pastor Lewis Brandon and Pastor George Stevenson officiating. Interment immediately following in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem.
