Rebecca Ruth Aliff

Rebecca "Becky" Ruth (Hill) Aliff, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Friendship Richfield Living Health Center at the age of 85.

She was born on August 30, 1940, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Pearisburg, Virginia, and was raised near Coulter's Chapel in Monroe County, West Virginia. Becky graduated from Peterstown High School and later attended Bluefield Business College. In 1958, she married Charles Henry Aliff and they were married for 48 years.

Becky began her professional career as a secretary/bookkeeper with the West Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Commission in Charleston, West Virginia. She later dedicated 30 years of service as an accountant and receptionist at a Holiday Inn in Salem, Virginia, prior to her retirement.

For many years, Becky and her husband, Charlie, brought joy to countless children in their roles as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, helping make Christmas seasons especially memorable for many families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Aliff; her parents, Roy Clarence and Mary Ellen Maddy Hill; her brother, Glen Roy Hill (Katherine); brother-in-laws, Maurice Aliff (Joyce) and Glenn Stover; sister-in-law Madeline Harvey (Paul) and several nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish Becky's memory are her siblings, William J. Hill and Martha A. Hill; her sisters-in-laws, Ruthanna Stover and Jeanne (Bobby) Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is also survived by a special great-great-nephew, Camden, as well as special friends, Wayne and Faith.

The family welcomes friends for a period of visitation on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, in Salem. A memorial service will begin directly after, starting at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel. In accordance with Becky's wishes, she will be buried beside her husband at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Virginia.
