Ray Boydton Worrell, 75, of Salem, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014. He was born on July 16, 1938 in Max Meadows, VA to the late Matterson and Daisy Williams Worrell. Ray was retired from G.E. with 35 years of faithful service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Iva Worrell Liptrap, Laura (Bonnie) Worrell and Claymander Worrell. Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife, Margaret Hypes Worrell; daughter, Ronna Lynn Worrell, of Salem; sisters, Archalane Worrell Mason of Roanoke, Juanita Worrell Knott of Salem and Opal Worrell Underwood of Roanoke; brothers, Bob Worrell, of Amelia, Lowell Worrell and wife, Mary, of Scottsville, Wayne Worrell and wife, Lillian, of Elliston, Skeeter Worrell and wife, Brenda, of Elliston and Joe Worrell and wife, Pat, of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Audrey Chambers Worrell, of Midlothian and Evelyn Hypes Wilburn, of Salem; brother-in-law, Bobby Lewis Hypes, of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews. In honor of Rays request there will be no viewing or graveside services. An immediate burial will take place at the Grubb Family Cemetery in Salem.
