Rachel Preston Marcum

Rachel Preston Marcum, 63, of Salem, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011. She was born August 25, 1948 in Paintsville, KY, a daughter of the late Conrad and Mary Preston. She was a former resident of Kermit, WV, and was employed by Froeling & Robertson, Inc. She loved her cats and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She is survived by a brother, John W. Preston; five sisters, Florene Maynard and her husband Bill, Connie Anderson and her husband Richard, Dorothy Preston, Mary Barnett and Debra Brant; many nieces and nephews, special friends and neighbors, all whom loved and will miss her dearly. A family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Veterinarians to Cats, 2750 Electric Rd. Roanoke, VA 24018.
