Phyllis Ann Throckmartin

Phyllis Walker Throckmartin (83) of Salem, Virginia, suddenly departed her loving family on November 9th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Janette Walker and Father, Lee Walker. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Alton Throckmartin: son, Steve Throckmartin and wife, Lisa; daughter, Vicki Black and husband, Mark; daughter, Karan Richardson, grandson, Ryan Throckmartin and wife, Megan; and great-grandson, Tanner Throckmartin, a dear sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bob Conner. Phyllis also leaves behind two brothers, Warren and Bobby Walker and two sisters, Connie Beheler and Brenda Barr and their extended families, as well as a multitude of close friends and her beloved pet, Ruby. Phyllis was a dedicated member of CommUNITY Church and, along with her husband, Alton, cherished traveling with their church family on mission trips both home and abroad to help those in need and to share the Word of God. She was a retired realtor from Barker Realty in Salem, Va., where she had an innate ability to nurture and create long lasting friendships which endure to this day. Phyllis was a loving mother and wife and a friend to all. She was a tireless and thoughtful soul who strived to do her best to make life better for everyone who surrounded her. She will be missed by many. Family and friends are invited to CommUNITY Church on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 1:00 pm to visit with her family and all are encouraged to stay and attend the Celebration of Life for this amazing woman at 2:00 pm to say their final goodbyes.
