Phyllis Mae Dooley, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Clay County W.VA., a daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel Gibson Darnell and had been an area resident most of her life. She was a long time member of Fort Lewis Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Phylliss Dog Grooming Service prior to retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 43 years, Rex A. Dooley, three nephews and their spouses, Gene and Teri Darnell, Bob and Helen Darnell and Don and Mary Ann Darnell, as well as her church family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7PM, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Fort Lewis Baptist Church. The Rev. Leonard L. Southern will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Lewis Baptist Church, 4215 West Main St. Salem, VA 24153.
