Phoebe G. Lombardi, 93, of Roanoke, Virginia, formerly of Wilton, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026.

Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Phoebe was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and George Grassman. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, where she was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She settled in Wilton, Connecticut, where she raised her family and worked for ten years as an administrative assistant at Wilton High School.

Phoebe was an accomplished needlepointer who loved the craft so much she taught it to others, and an avid golfer. Above all, she treasured time with her family and friends - gatherings that were never complete without her famous homemade chocolate sauce over ice cream, a specialty her grandchildren will remember always.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Lombardi and Diane Rice and her husband Eric; her son, Bart Lombardi, Jr. and his wife Lillie; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her former husband, Bart J. Lombardi.

Services will be private. The family thanks the caregivers at her assisted living community in Roanoke for their kindness over the years.
