Phillip Wayne Coleman, 58, of Boones Mill, mounted his motorcycle and roared across the great divide on Sunday, October 20, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Franklin Coleman; daughters, Bridget Ellen Coleman and her boyfriend Mike Matola of Los Angeles, CA, Stephanie Lauren Coleman of Roanoke; three sisters, Carolyn and Pete Smith and their sons Shane and Scott and his wife Melissa of Salem, VA, Judy and Gerald Olson and sons Coleman and Clayton of Titusville, FL, and Kim and Kevin Jones and their children Kameron and Karlyn of Blue Ridge, VA. Phil is also survived by family friend and caretaker, Jahn Simons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick A. and Zella Philips Coleman. Phil will live on through his family and friends who knew and respected him for his diligence as a carpenter, and through his love of music and motorcycling. A memorial service will be held at 6PM, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. Dr. Lew Bennett will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 4:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
