Philip M. Argabright, Sr., 78, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
He was born in Blacksburg on October 8, 1940, a son of the late Malcolm and Reba Smith Argabright and had been an area resident most of his life. He earned his bachelors degree from Virginia Tech and taught Agriculture Education for many years, and later became director of maintenance for Roanoke County Schools. He later owned and operated a well drilling and pump installation service. He was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he taught Sunday School. Phils love of flying motivated him to earn his private pilots license and he was active in flying search and rescue and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for over twenty years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Argabright.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Brenda Grim Argabright; a son, Philip M. Argabright, Jr. and wife Susie; two daughters, Debra A. Rogers, and Phyllis Hypes and husband Brent; two brothers, Donald L. Argabright, and Ricky D. Argabright and his wife Debra; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion, Rusty.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Saints, 6311 Wayburn Dr. Salem, VA. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM at the church.
