Peggy Joann Chaffin Thomas Thompson

Peggy JoAnn Chaffin Thomas Thompson (JoAnn), 68, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. JoAnn was a wonderful cook, enjoyed loving her children and grandchildren, and was well-loved by all who knew her. Preceding her in death was her husband, Billy Joe Thomas. Her surviving family includes her stepfather, Oscar Edward Saunders; mother, Elizabeth Frances Saunders; daughters, Connie Marie Gardner, Patricia Ann Parker and boyfriend, Don, and Becky Elizabeth Thompson; sister, Betty Jenrose Chandler and husband, Don; stepsister, Jean Wheeler; stepbrother, Russell Saunders; grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, David, Michelle and boyfriend, Mike, and Sherry and boyfriend, Marcus; several great-grandchildren; and special aunt, Ruby Kathleen Mullins. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Thompson family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Salem, 540-389-5441.
