Peggy Ann Bryant Richardson

Peggy Ann Bryant Richardson, 85, of Salem, was called home to join her husband of 61 years, Thomas Leon Richardson, Jr. on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. She was born on October 7, 1933 in Fries, Virginia, the daughter of the late Raymond Jacob Bryant and Mary Ada Crowder Bryant. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Herman and Bill Bryant, and by sisters, Mary Katherine Martin and Avery Bond. Peggy was a retired RN from Roanoke Memorial Hospital after 40 years where she taught pediatrics in the school of nursing and worked in the out patient clinic. She was an avid reader and cared deeply for her family with all her heart and soul. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Beth Richardson; many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Ruby Greene. A memorial service will be conducted at 1PM, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3035 Mt. Pleasant Blvd. Roanoke, VA 24014. The Rev. Roberts Stutes will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
