Peggy S. Rash

Peggy S. Rash, 83, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Rash; her parents, Samuel and Merle Saunders Smith; four sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Judy Rash; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Rodney Varney; two granddaughters, whom she adored, Sydney and Lane Varney; a sister, Jean Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 3 pm to 6 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the Church Hill Cemetery, Salem, with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 291 Salem VA. 24153, or the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke VA. 2018.
