Paul Wesley Phoenix

Paul Wesley Phoenix, 74, of Shawsville, went to meet with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2014. He was born on April 13, 1939, in Roanoke VA, to the late Fred and Frances Phoenix. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Phoenix Jr., Wayne Phoenix, Bobby Phoenix; two sisters, Lorraine Smith and Shirley Furrow, and his granddaughter, Tonya Wall. Family left to cherish his memory, wisdom and knowledge includes his wife, Charlotte; brother, Lewis R. Phoenix; five children, Michael Phoenix, Mark Phoenix, Martha Grady, Bruce Phoenix and Lynn Phoenix; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services honoring Mr. Phoenix will be conducted on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lanny Belcher officiating.
