Paul Charles Lockhart

Paul Charles Lockhart, 81, of Salem, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War and was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church in Shawsville. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles Walter and Emma Lee Wiseman Lockhart; and brother, Marvin Lockhart. His surviving family includes his wife of 29 years, Snowa Sutphin Bell Lockhart; son, Douglas Allen Lockhart and fiance, Denise; daughters, Connie Marie Buckland, Mary Lee Otey and husband, Mike, and Sarah Jane Dickson and husband, Bobby; stepchildren, Gary Bell and wife, Jenny, Larry Bell and fiance, Brenda Witlock, Barbara Palmer and husband, Bobby, and Vanessa Sublett; sister, Betty Reed; grandchildren, Holly Buckland, Heather Buckland, Jeremy Lockhart, Chrissy LaFlore, Shannon and Chris Dickson, Jason Otey, Cathy Mutchler and husband, Scott, Audra Duncan, Michael Bell and wife, Melissa, Eric Bell and wife, Emily, Jason Bell, and Dawn Hollins and husband, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Matayah, Daysha, and Aliyah Buckland, Katelynn Howell, Marcus, Cissy, Bree, and Mya LaFlore, Eliza Otey, MaKenna Mutchler, Miya Duncan, Lily Bell, Cole Hollins, and Madison Hollins; cousin, Catherine Humphreys; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the funeral homes chapel with the Revs. Wes Conner and Jack Richards, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
