Patricia Ann Young

Patricia Dyer Patsy Young, 88, of Salem, went home to be with the lord on Friday, April 14, 2023. She was born on May 9, 1934, in Greeneville, Tenn., daughter of the late Elbert Randall, and Frances Lee Mooney Dyer. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Rudolph Kent Young; grandson, Joshua Young; nephews, Chris Morgan, and David Young; and great-nephew, Jarrett Lane. Patricia enjoyed her trips to the beach and especially loved her times spent in the Smokey Mountains. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed reading and sewing during downtimes. She was the previous co-owner of Masonry Contractors Inc. where numerous friendships were made. Patsy loved her family, especially her children, but her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. They could do no wrong, in her eyes. Patsy had a giving heart and was always willing to help anyone in any way she could. Truly, it could be said that she loved everyone she knew, unconditionally. Family remaining to cherish her memory include her children, Randall K. Young (Teresa), Vickie Y. Lucas (Gary), and Jeff A. Young (Virginia); sister, Nancy D. Morgan; grandchildren, Cham Lucas, Brooke Kelly, Paige Maddy, Brandon Young, Heather Young, Lindsey Brown, and Ashley Neighbors; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family would like to thank the Richfield Long Term Care staff, especially Colleen and April, for the love and care they expressed during Patsys stay. The family will receive friends at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 6 until 8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, April 18th, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
