Patricia Mcgarrell "Jane" Wright

Patricia Jane McGarrell Wright, 82, of Salem, VA passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022. She was born on Saturday, March 30, 1940, to the late James and Maude Webber McGarrell. Jane started with the Richardson, Johnston, and Wynn Insurance Agency at the age of eighteen and continued her employment as an Insurance Agent for the company until its closure. Aside from her career, her family was her greatest joy, she loved to be with her family. Lastly, its important to note that she was an avid NASCAR fan and loyal to her FORD drivers! In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, James W. McGarrell, Jr., and wife, Louise; and a sister, Adelaide Wright and her husband, Bobby; and sister-in-law, Betty McGarrell. Surviving include her daughter, Stephanie Wright; brothers, Patrick McGarrell and wife, Myra, and Irvin McGarrell; sister, Susan Arnold and husband, George; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
