Patricia Gail King

Patricia Gail King, 63, of Vinton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Paige and Virgie Shreve Argabright and had been an area resident all of her life. She was employed as a Certified Nurses Assistant with Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for over 18 years prior to retiring. Pat enjoyed bird watching, collecting birdhouses, her dogs, Rusty, Cuddles, Jewel and Cadence, and loved spending time at the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Jordan, and her sister Mary Jeannette Weeks. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Gary E. King; two daughters, Theresa New and husband Curtis, and April Overfelt and husband Frank; five grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Brysone New, Autumn Overfelt, Caleb Overfelt and Isaac Overfelt; a sister, Joyce Godfryt, as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Services will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The Revs. Mike Grooms and Jay Richards will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, October 24 at the funeral home.
