Patricia Dorton Hubble

Patricia D. Hubble, 74 of Salem passed away Sunday May 3. Born in Scott County Virginia she was the daughter of late Lester and Nila Dorton. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Pete Hubble; brothers, Lester Dorton, Johnnie Dorton and Jackie Lynn Dorton; and a sister, Barbara Dean. Left to remember her is her daughter and son in law, Teresa and Boyd Dooley and the light of her life, granddaughter, Maegan Elizabeth Dooley. Pat was blessed with a large and devoted family that includes brothers and sisters, Ronnie Dorton of Gate City, Virginia, Gail and John Huff of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Helen McClellan of Wardensville, West Virginia, David and Cindy Dorton of Gate City, Virginia, Carol and David Sproles of Kingsport, Tennessee, Richard Dorton of Kingsport Tennessee, Bobby Dorton of Kingsport, Tennessee, Betty Ketron of Kingsport Tennessee and Frank Dorton of Richlands, Virginia. Pat also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews that were near and dear to her heart. The family would like to thank Pat's close friends, Toni and Ed Janiga, Jimmy and Nancy Gabbert, and Norma Christian and her family for their unwavering support and for lifting Pat up in laughter during her fight. To the Nurses, Techs and Doctors at Lewis Gale Hospital, Thank you for the exemplary care that was given to her, you will never know how much we appreciate you. Pat was loving, loyal, and did things her way. Once described as Tougher than an old pine knot, she couldn't have thought of a better compliment to have received. Per her wishes, there will be no memorial service or funeral. A private interment will occur at a later date.
