Patricia Hudson Baker

Patricia Charlene Baker, 66, of Salem, Va, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Patty is remembered for having a heart of gold and was full of life. She loved good music, a good laugh, a house full of primitive decorations, outstanding cuisine, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was a devoted Christian and Elder in the First Christian Church of Salem. Traveling with her late husband, Stevie, was one of her most loved hobbies. She was a true true lover of all animals; however, her cats were always nearest to her heart. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Alexander Hudson; and her loving husband of sixteen years, Stephen Hall Baker. Left behind to cherish her memory is her mother, Virginia Charlene Hudson; sister, Kathy Lynne Peters (Larry); nephew, Chad David Peters (Angel); niece, Angela Kaye Belcher (Danny); five great nephews; and one great niece. Also left behind are many special friends: Barbara Huffman, Virginia Spruill, Susan Taylor, Cindy Smith, and Sara Bell along with her abundant church family. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service will then begin at 11 a.m. Committal rites will be held immediately following the service at Sherwood Memorial Park. Rev. Dan Netting will be officiating. Special thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and especially to Venessa and Alice as well as the staff of Helpful Hands Home Care Services for all their support and compassion.
