Oveta Grace Croy

Oveta Grace Croy (Angie Grace Travis), 58, of Salem, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at her residence, with her family by her side. She was born on December 21, 1956 in Roanoke, daughter of the late Brady Junior Croy and Lillian Quesenberry Croy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmie Croy and Bennett Croy. Her surviving family are her brother, George Croy (Elaine); her four sisters, Geri Winston (Jack), Mary Meador, Carolyn Underwood (Donnie), and Barbara Williams (Calvin), all of Salem. She had eight loving nieces; six great nieces; two great nephews; and one step-niece and step-nephew and their children. She was a registered CNA and caretaker to many. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the Amedysis Hospice staff, especially to Terri Hash, and to Blue Ridge Behavioral Health Care, especially Jamie Garman. The family will receive friends Monday, July 27, 2015 from 6 until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Leonard Southern officiating.
