Opal Frances Musselman Dyer entered the gates of Heaven to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was born on May 1, 1930 in Salem, attended Andrew Lewis High School, and was a resident of Roanoke with her loving and compassionate husband, (Isaac) Marvin Dyer for sixty-five years. She was a dedicated and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Opal was passionate about her family and their well-being. She attended and sang in the Salem Church of Christ Choir as a child and attended Ridgewood Baptist Church in her adult life for over fifty years. Through the years she continued to enjoy hymns and joyful music. She enjoyed collecting, crocheting, and crafting while spending time with family members whom she regarded as her best friends. Opal (Gran/Mamoo) adored her grandchildren and viewed them as Gods special gifts. She was always willing to pitch in to help other family members and was a patient and understanding woman. After raising her family, Opal worked as manager of Dyer Paint & Wallpaper (Pittsburgh Paint) for just under 20 years. She enjoyed and appreciated the numerous friendships she made as she worked. Opal and Marvin shared the most remarkable love story and served as role models for all their family and friends. Her faith in God and love of the Bible never faltered as she shared her love and kindness with all the lives she touched throughout her life. Opal was predeceased by her devoted husband, Isaac Marvin Dyer; her father, Dot Musselman; her mother, Nannie Mae Musselman; grandson, Fletcher Hancock Dyer; brother, Johnny Hamilton; and sisters, Margaret Wise, Carrie Scott, Nelda Hedge, and Dolly Roop.
